Sunny Sunday
1~ A lovely run on a crisp and frosty morning. Pity I lost it on the steep hill. Next time I will run all the way! This was followed by another walk by the river to the old station and the purchase of some lovely bread and biscuits. White bread - as I was told I necer buy white bread!
2~Another proper Sunday lunch.
3~The prospect of a good read, and the satisfaction of finishing two books this weekend. One was very short though - Ethel and Ernest.

Sunny Saturday
1~ A beautiful full moon shining on the sea as we drove to grandma's in the dark last night. It was amazing.
2~A walk round Richmond in the sun this morning - cold but lovely. Great after my long lie and I managed to finish my book. I love AMS, but I didn't enjoy this book all that much. Popped into a few shops and bought a lovely primrose from the market. Also got a bargain in Oxfam. I just need to find the time to read it.
3~Master T in bed at 6.30pm. It's too good to be true - no tea and still fully clothed!. He is bound to be up later. I'm looking forward to a glass of grandad's pink prosecco now!

Late Saturday
1~Texting all my friends during a long car journey - I wasn't driving!
2~ A late afternoon walk along the beach at Whitley Bay, with BIG waves crashing down. This was followed by a visit to a lovely little cafe where the kids had ice cream!!!!!!!!! It was far too cold for ice cream, but.......
3~Watching a very funny Peter Kay video. Just right for a Saturday night.

Sunday
A weird day in many ways, possibly because I haven't done much except the hum drum chores. Why are there always so many things needing cleaned up?
1~The morning drive to the supermarket. On my own, sun shining, listening to the radio. It was only 15 minutes, but it was just me.....peace!
2~A quick wander round the block in the late afternoon sunshine. No one wanted to join me. I brooded, but enjoyed a bit more me-time before the next round of cooking and washing up.
3~A programme on Diaries that I found on the iPlayer. Self indulgent!

Sodden Saturday
It started wet, but brightened up thankfully.
1~Planting some bulbs with Master T. He soooooooo wanted to help, but something went wrong as he needed to have his pirates with him and he lost one. It all ended in tears! Now they are in the dark cupboard off his room. I wonder how long they will last before he investigates?
2~A walk round Smeaton Lake, which was frozen. Spotted thousand of snowdrops pushing their way up through the snow and ice. A few were almost our. This was followed by a visit to the tea room for cake (and ice cream for Master T), and Mister T purchasing me a new (small) amaryllis. (Amaryllis 1 is about to bloom)
3~Doing a bit of cross stitch. Something for Master T I hope.
and an extra one today:
4~Watching Slumdog Millionaire. Reminded me of our trips to India.

Spring has Sprung
What a lovely day, I was in good spirits until master T got out of the wrong side of bed. Everything has been uphill ever since.
He hasn't slept this afternoon, so is now in front of TV with the opiate of choice - Thomas the Tank Engine. We've just returned from a walk - well I was walking, he was on his trike. Thak goodness it has a handle which allows me to control where he is going. No road sense and no sense of steering. I was going a bit crazy. By the time we got home he was holding on with one hand, but only just. His other fingers were in his mouth and he could hardly keep his eyes open. But we don't want sleep now. It's far too late in the day for a nap now. I'll have to keep him entertained for a bit longer.

Almost the end
Almost at the end of the holiday, it will be good to have some routine back in our lives. Our toddler is all over the place - he does like his sleep, but he all out of kilter at the moment. Today hasn't been helped by us all being at a party last night. He had a great time, flirting with young ladies. I drank fizzy water all night - being the designated driver, I had to get the boys home.
Today has meandered on. Went for a walk this afternoon - just into town. I love a brisk walk on a cold and bright winter's day. However with a two-year old in tow, walking cannot be brisk. We just got chilled to the bone. It ended up being a visit to the supermarket and a quick look around town. Poor Mr T ended up pushing the pushchair, carrying the scooter and carrying some shopping. My hero!
Have managed a quick look at the paper, but can't move in the front room for jigsaws. Have recently discovered BBCiplayer. have watched the Christmas Royle Family and the 39 Steps and have listened to a few radio shows. What a great find. I'm off to watch Thatcher and the Scots. Leftovers for tea tonight, so no real cooking required.
